Hello LCS Community,
Our priority through this COVID-19 pandemic is to provide excellent educational programs and services while maintaining high standards for the health and safety of our students and school community. Sheffield Elementary School will shift to remote learning for all students. The building will be closed for students from Wednesday, October 13, 2021, through Friday, October 15, 2021. The plan is to reopen Monday, October 18, 2021, provided we have the necessary staff to ensure the safety and supervision of our students.
This decision was not made lightly, and we understand that this may be a hardship for some families. However, the health and safety of our students and staff must be taken into account. Principal Lisa Lee has already communicated this shift to remote learning with her Sheffield families and staff. We have shared our plans with the Virginia Department of Health, and together, we believe this is the right step to take for the health and safety of our students, families, staff, and the community at large at this time.
