The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the hiring of three school principals for the 2026-2027 school year, effective July 1. April Goff has been named principal of E. C. Glass High School, Dr. Laura Morrison-Hussein has been named principal of Perrymont Elementary School, and Jeremy Hutchinson has been named principal of Hutcherson Academy.

April Goff

E. C. Glass High School will welcome April Goff as its new principal. She brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including over 15 years of service as a school principal in Virginia and North Carolina. Throughout her career, she has successfully led schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels with a consistent focus on student achievement, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Most recently, Mrs. Goff served as Principal of Southern Wake Academy in North Carolina. Her previous leadership experience includes serving as an assistant principal, Director of Career and Technical Education, and coach. She began her career in education as a teacher with Campbell County Public Schools.

Dr. Laura Morrison-Hussein

At Perrymont Elementary, Dr. Laura Morrison-Hussein will step into the role of principal for the upcoming school year. She brings more than 25 years of educational experience to the position.

Most recently, Dr. Morrison-Hussein served in senior leadership roles with the Department of War Education Activity, a global school system serving military-connected students in schools located throughout the United States, Europe, and the Pacific. She also served as principal at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Her experience includes elementary, middle, and district-level leadership positions.

Jeremy Hutchinson

Jeremy Hutchinson has been named principal of Hutcherson Academy, which serves Pre-Kindergarten students. Mr. Hutchinson brings 17 years of experience in education, including the last 10 years as an administrator at Madison Heights Elementary School in Amherst County Public Schools. Madison Heights Elementary serves as the Pre-K hub for the southern end of Amherst County.
