Dear LCS families,

CHANGE TO MEAL DELIVERIES

Starting Monday, March 30, we will be giving out two days’ worth of meals on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This will include two breakfasts, two lunches, and four cartons of milk. We will not be delivering meals on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

We are adding meal pick up sites on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the following Parks and Recreation Centers (map) from 11:00 a.m. to noon and reducing bus routes surrounding these locations:

  • College Hill Neighborhood Center
  • Daniel’s Hill Neighborhood Center
  • Diamond Hill Neighborhood Center
  • Fairview Heights Neighborhood Center
  • Jefferson Park Neighborhood Center
  • Yoder Neighborhood Center

We will continue to offer curbside pickup on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at our four school Command Centers from 11:00 a.m. to noon:

  • E. C. Glass High School
  • Heritage High School
  • Dunbar Middle School
  • Linkhorne Middle School

School buses and vans will continue making meal deliveries at bus stops throughout the city on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between  11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Please check our website regularly for the latest on bus stop meal delivery locations and to find the meal site closest to you.

Transportation will be in the buildings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only. If your bus did not come to your usual stop and you have a question about the stop or need them to return, contact transportation at 515-5100 on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

CONTINUITY OF LEARNING

Our Curriculum and Instruction team is working hard to develop a plan to continue learning during the school closure. We want to let families know that we are going to need time to ensure we have meaningful lessons for you. We hope you were able to benefit from  the enrichment packets and resources that were shared last week. We invite you next week to just take a break and resume with learning and lessons on April 6.  It is our goal to not rush this process of creating a new learning environment. We are going to focus on restructuring our staff so that we can continue to focus on essential learning. We plan to provide you with scheduled activities, videos, and meaningful learning opportunities that will help keep your child on track in their grade and subject areas. We will have more information coming regarding continuity of learning later next week.

COMING TO PICK UP ITEMS

We know you may need to come get some of your students’ belongings, such as instruments, school supplies, etc. We will be working on a plan for parents/guardians on this and let you know as soon as you can come get these important items. Stay tuned!
