Dear LCS families,

We know that many changes have happened since we shared our original Return to Learn draft plan in early July.

On Tuesday, August 4, the Lynchburg City School Board voted to begin the 2020-2021 school  year under the Remote Only model for all LCS students for the first nine weeks. The first day of school is still Monday, August 24, but there will not be in-building instruction.

We also understand that with this change comes many questions from families.

We have updated our website at www.lcsedu.net/return-to-learn with new information that will help answer your most pressing questions and concerns, including what Remote Only learning will look like for you and your child.

Also, at this time, the community learning centers will not be staffed by LCS employees because this would conflict with the school board's decision to have remote only instruction.

We understand that this is a difficult time for many, and these decisions were made with the students’ and staff’s safety as our number one priority.

Here are some helpful videos to provide more information.
