The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the superintendent’s recommendation to hire Lakrisha Scott as the new Director of Human Resources (HR). They also approved the recommendation to hire Manée Davis as the Interim Chief Financial Officer.
Most recently, Mrs. Scott has served as the Senior Human Resources Generalist. In this role, she worked to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations for Lynchburg City Schools. Among other duties, she develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships with directors, principals, and employees.
Prior to that role, she served as the Payroll and Benefits Specialist for Lynchburg City Schools. As a liaison with external partners, she worked to resolve benefit claims and processing problems in a prompt and thorough manner. She also advised managers and counseled employees on benefits related questions.

Mrs. Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Virginia Commonwealth University, in addition to a Master’s in Business Administration from Averett University. She also holds a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.
Most recently, Mrs. Davis has served as the Budget Analyst for Lynchburg City Schools. She has more than six years of extensive experience in the areas of budget and state financial reporting. In this role, she has supervised our elementary school bookkeepers and has had the oversight of our schools’ student activity accounts and annual audits. Serving as the primary point of contact for various school departments, Mrs. Davis has provided financial oversight and development of over a $100,000,000 budget.

Mrs. Davis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University, in addition to being a Certified School Business and Operations Administrator through the Association of School Business Officials.
