We offer a variety of services through Lynchburg City Schools to students between the ages of two and when they enter kindergarten. The following services are provided to students:
- Screenings to determine if there is a suspected delay
- Testing to determine of the child has a disability
- Eligibility determination meetings
- Individual Education Programs for student that meet the criteria to receive special education services.
- Parent resources
- Inclusive placement for students that have been found to be eligible to receive special education services
- A full continuum of service placements
- Speech Therapy for students that have been found to be eligible to receive speech services
- Occupational Therapy for students that have been found to be eligible to receive occupational therapy
- Physical Therapy for students that have been found to be eligible to receive physical therapy
In addition to services to students HELP also participates in the Inclusive Placement Opportunities Initiative through the Virginia Department of Education. We sponsor trainings throughout the city for child care providers and preschools.
