Overview

The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. was established in 1985 as an endowment institution. The Foundation accepts financial support from individuals and businesses for selected projects and programs which are consistent with the goals and priorities of the Lynchburg City School Board.

Foundation funds are used to offer enhancing and enriching educational opportunities for all students and are not intended to replace public revenues which are necessary to provide ongoing educational programs of high quality for school-age children of the city. Contributions are used by the Foundation to fund programs that are not part of the school division's regular operating budget such as Classroom Innovation Grants, the Tools4Schools Warehouse, annual scholar recognition, and student scholarships. Annually, the Foundation awards more than $80,000 in grant money to division teachers who submit grant applications which demonstrate innovative and effective ways to meet student needs and increase motivation to learn.

The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. depends on community support to maintain a variety of innovative and creative educational programs and projects as well as provides an opportunity for parents and patrons to demonstrate their continued support and investment in the Lynchburg City Schools. The Board of Trustees seeks your help in this fund raising effort and appreciates your consideration of financial support for the Foundation.
