Dear LCS community,  

We have some highlights to share with you from our School Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

During a special presentation, students from E. C. Glass High, Sandusky Middle, and Perrymont Elementary were recognized as winners for their artwork for the 2022 Virginia School Boards Association art competition.  

As part of the LCS Community Update, Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards provided information on the LCS budget proposal, facilities study and planned community meetings, student support practices, and the LCS Education Career Fair. There will be a series of Community Conversations beginning on Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Sandusky Elementary to discuss the facilities study.  

Deputy Superintendent Amy Pugh discussed the proposed book donation from The Virginia Education Foundation (VEF). VEF would like to donate 21,489 books with a retail value of $353,482.11. These books are for all age groups, PreK through high school. The list of books can be found on the agenda.

The next School Board Work Session is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the School Administration Building. The next School Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the School Administration Building.
